Jenna watched with sadness in her eyes as Sebastian started to race from the bedroom.
He ran back in to kiss her cheek and made her swear she would not leave the room no matter what she heard. She agreed with a heavy heart.
Once he was gone, she knew she had to act quickly. She dressed faster than she ever had before in her life.
She jumped out of Sebastian's first story bedroom window, and ran to her car.
Jenna grabbed her bag from the backseat and retrieved her weapons from inside. She could hear screams already coming from the house.
With her hands full of wooden stakes, she quickly made her way back inside through the open window.
She opened the bedroom door to find a bloodbath before her. Shock caused her to pause, but only for an instant. She had a job to do, and she fully intended on doing it.
People were screaming and running in every direction. The doors had been barred closed, and no one could get out.
Her eyes scanned the room, looking for the two vampires she'd come here to kill.
She found both. Damien was the one closest to her. He was biting the neck of a lady she'd seen earlier in the night. Her blood covered Damien's face.
She took a deep breath and prepared to do the job her father, and his father before him, had done.
This coven was by far the hardest to track, but with a lot of persistence, she had done it.
With a leap, Jenna jumped on Damien's back. She was so quick, he hardly had time to react. He threw the victim he was devouring away from him and reached over his shoulder to grab Jenna, pulling her in front of him.
The instant his eyes met hers, he laughed. Something about her had seemed not quite right. Now he knew why. She was a vampire hunter!
"I should've known!" he said in a fit of laughter.
"Then may I ask why you are laughing?" Jenna asked through clenched teeth.
"Because you, my beauty, are no threat to me. I should've known who you were the instant I smelled your blood. This isn't the first time I've had the misfortune of encountering your family."
Damien lifted her by her shirt until her feet were dangling off the ground.
"Sebastian!! Come look what I found!"
Sebastian was tossing bodies left and right, eating as quickly as he could. He glanced over at Damien and froze when he saw Jenna.
"Eliza..," he said softly.
For some reason, it had taken him until now to realize who she was. It had taken him all this time to realize she was his true love reincarnated. His Eliza..
He was by Damien in an instant.
Jenna looked at Sebastian with wide eyes. He hardly resembled the gentleman she had seen just ten minutes earlier.
His hair had come undone from the ribbon holding it back. It now hung all across his face and chest. Blood covered him.
"Let her go," Sebastian growled.
"I will do no such thing! Look in her damn hands, man! Are you completely blind?!"
Sebastian looked at the stakes she held in her trembling hands. She was a vampire hunter, just as his beautiful Eliza had been.
"I said to put her down. Now!"
Damien rolled his eyes and tossed Jenna across the room.
The second she landed, she threw a wooden stake at Damien and watched as it pierced his forehead.
He fell back and hit the ground with a loud thud.
She turned to find Sebastian right behind her. He hadn't moved an inch. He had not even attempted to save Damien's life.
He looked Jenna straight in the eyes.
"So what now, Eliza? Do you plan on trying to kill me? Again?"
