Halloween Horror: Part 3

HALLOWEEN HORROR: PART 3

The ending from Halloween Horror: Part 2:

An hour passed and the popcorn balls were slowly dwindling down. Nikki checked the box and was disappointed to see so many left. She was hoping to have them gone by now.

"This isn't working. Start giving out a few to each kid," she said to Robert.

"I wouldn't do that if I were you," a female voice said from behind her.

Nikki turned around on the porch to see half the coven standing there.

And here is the finale to "Halloween Horror":

Nikki smiled and tried her best to look innocent.

"If you give all those scrumptious looking popcorn balls away to the little beasts,  what ever will you feed your guests?" the High Priestess said in a sharp tone.

"Hello, Genevieve. To what do I owe this honor?" Nikki asked, doing all she could to hide the contempt in her voice.

The coven gasped when they heard Nikki refer to their High Priestess by her formal name. Everyone knew that was considered an insult. They glanced at their leader, wondering what punishment she would subject Nikki to.

Genevieve threw her head back and laughed deeply.

"Oh, Nikk! You always have been an ill-mannered imp. No need to be rude, child. We are here to celebrate Samhain, of course. Don't act as though you weren't expecting us."

Nikki had no clue what Genevieve was talking about. Samhain was always celebrated at Genevieve's home. It was isolated and they never had to fear being discovered during their celebration.

Nikki knew something was seriously wrong here. They were up to something. She knew she couldn't allow them to get near those popcorn balls. Someone would realize right away what she'd done. She glanced back at Robert, only to find him gone.

"What the hell..," Nikki muttered.

Robert had managed to slip away unnoticed.

" At least he took the box of popcorn balls with him," Nikki mumbled.

"Is something amiss, my dear?" Genevieve inquired a little too pleasantly.

"Um, no. Just thinking out loud. How can we possibly have Samhain here? Shall we build a bonfire out back and alert my neighbors that we are all witches? Or better yet, how will we explain it to the authorities, who will surely be alerted by said neighbors?"

"Cloak your yard, Nikk! No one will see a thing then," Genevieve replied with a smirk.

"You know damn well I do not have that power yet. You're not helping here."

Genevieve approached her until they were only inches apart . Nikki didn't budge.

"My, Nikk! You're sweating on this cold evening! Are you chilled?" the High Priestess asked as she raised a hand to Nikki's forehead.

Genevieve leaned closer to Nikki's ear and said in a hushed, bitter tone, "Do take care of yourself, child. Not only are you next in line for High Priestess, you have that child you are carrying to think about."

Nikki was stunned into silence.  She hadn't told anyone she was pregnant. She'd only recently found out herself. Robert was her closest friend, and not even he knew yet.

Genevieve must've somehow gotten ahold of her Book Of Shadows. That's the only way she could know. Nikki wrote down everything in that book, even about her newly discovered pregnancy.

"May I ask where Thomas is? I was sure he would be here with you. Especially considering how close you two have become of late," Genevieve said as she pulled away.

"So this was it,"  Nikki thought. This was why Thomas had been put in her home. This was the reason she was being set up. Genevieve knew she was pregnant and it seemed as if she thought it was Thomas's child.
Plus, Genevieve wasn't willing to ever give up her title to Nikki. Blaming Nikki for the murder of another witch was a perfect way to get rid of her for good.

"He is your husband, Genevieve. Why would he be with me? Thomas was simply teaching me spells, as was his job. He taught us all, or have you forgotten?"

"Was? What do you mean 'was'? Don't you mean 'he is'?" Genevieve said with an evil grin.

"I think we both know what I mean. Why did you do it? Why did you kill Thomas? I know you think I was having an affair with him, but I was not. Thomas loved you. How could you murder him? And you tried to put the blame on me?! WHY?"

Genevieve's fake smile disappeared instantly. Her face turned dark red. Nikki could see the rage building up in her.

Robert was listening from the living room and was fully prepared.

Quickly and quietly he chanted,
”Silence now thy lying tongue
Only truth and honesty come
From thy lips and from thy tongue
Til the next full moon doth come.”

"You deserve the blame! I may have sliced the fool's throat and put him here, but you are at fault for his death! If you had kept your slutty hands to yourself, Thomas would be alive!" Genevieve screamed.

The coven gasped loudly. They couldn't believe what they'd just heard.

Nikki looked at Genevieve in shock. She was not expecting her to tell the truth.

The coven approached Genevieve from behind.

"Madam, you know the punishment for this crime," the witch closest to her said softly, while placing a hand on Genevieve's shoulder.

"Don't touch me! I am your High Priestess!"

The coven gathered around her in a circle.

Robert came onto the porch then. He saw Genevieve move towards Nikki in a fit of rage.

Before she could grab Nikki, he cast another spell.

"Genevieve,  Transmutatae, Corpus Vitae, Terracotta!" he yelled.

The High Priestess turned to stone instantly.

Everyone turned to stare at Robert.

"How in the ever loving hell did you cast a spell on a High Priestess?!" Nikki asked, astounded.

"Maybe I forgot to mention how powerful I actually am," he said with a grin.

"Maybe? Yeah, you did, jackass!" Nikki said heatedly.

"Get her out of here," Robert said to the remaining coven.

No one dared defy him. Not after what they'd just witnessed. They quickly left the porch and flew off into the night with their disgraced leader.

He walked up to Nikki and wrapped his arms around her. He could feel her shaking.

"Are you ok? Is our baby ok?" he asked, concerned.

Nikki looked up at him.

"You know? But how?"

Robert simply smiled.

"Dammit, you jerk! You knew all this time and didn't tell me?!" Nikki said as she punched his arm.

Robert laughed and hugged her closer.

His feisty Nikki was going to be a wonderful mother and an amazing new leader to the coven.

"Ah, yes! This is true love!", Robert said as he kissed her.

He leaned down to the small bump on her belly and whispered, "Happy Halloween, my little goblin!"
