SHADOW

I couldn't sleep, 

My throat was dry. 

My heart was racing, 

I was alone in the night. 

I saw you in the darkness, 

I saw your shadow on the wall. 

I knew you had come for me. 

I heard your horrific call. 

I thought it was the end for me, 

I couldn't run from this. 

You reached for me, 

My cheek felt your ice cold kiss. 

You looked into my eyes, 

I began to weep. 

I didn't say a word, 

I knew it would do no good to speak. 

My body was frozen, 

I couldn't move. 

I began to panic, 

I didn't want to die in this room. 

Out of the corner 

Of my tired eyes, 

I saw the beginning of 

The morning sunrise. 

You began to fade, 

I escaped you once more. 

I knew once the night arrived again, 

I would again be yours.
