A Birthday To Remember: Part 3

A BIRTHDAY TO REMEMBER: PART 3

"Eliza?", Jenna asked confused.

Had he already forgotten her name? Sebastian grabbed her hand in an instant, moving at a speed only a vampire could.

He pulled her into his arms and pressed her head against his chest.

She couldn't see anything, but she could feel them spinning.

When Sebastian finally released her, she looked around in shock. They were no longer in his log cabin. They were in a castle, a beautiful castle. They were even dressed differently.

She hated to admit it, but Sebastian looked extremely handsome in his black coat, white waistcoat and black breeches.

Jenna looked down at the gown she was now wearing. Her bodice was long waisted and the skirt was narrow and pinned in the back. It was the most amazing shade of lavender.

"Where are we?", Jenna asked softly.

 "Home," Sebastian replied huskily.

 "Home?" she repeated.

 "This was our home, Eliza."

"Stop calling me that, dammit! My name is not Eliza!" Jenna said heatedly.

Sebastian could see she was getting upset.

"How did we get here? Am I dreaming?"

Sebastian couldn't believe she was a vampire hunter and still had no clue that vampires could time travel.
Surely her father had mentioned it to her. But as he looked in her eyes, he could tell she sincerely didn't know.

"I brought us here. That's all you need to know right now."

He gently took her elbow and said, "If you'll come with me, my lady, there's something I would like to show you."

Jenna followed him without question. He lead her from the Great Hall, down a long corridor until they reached the Bower.

Sebastian opened the door and led her inside. The room was breathtaking.

"Whose room is this?" Jenna asked him.

"It's yours. Well, it was yours. This was your private bedroom. You spent many hours here, knitting or reading."

She gazed around the room. The walnut four poster bed took up much of the room. Then her eyes raised to the spot above the bed. It was a painting, one of her and Sebastian.

Sebastian could feel her heart began to race as he held her hand. He wrapped his arms around her lovingly and waited.

Memories came in a flood, rushing all through Jenna. She suddenly remembered her life with Sebastian. She remembered being Eliza. She remembered the day she died, the day Eliza died. She remembered how she first met him, how she had tried to kill him once before, in another lifetime. But had ended up falling madly in love with him. She hadn't cared that she was a vampire hunter and him a vampire.

Sebastian felt her shudder and kissed her forehead. He saw the tears threatening to fall from her eyes.

"Our baby,"  she said through her tears.

Jenna vividly recalled her last hours before her death. She just had given birth to a dark haired son who had Sebastian's eyes. She remembered holding him in her arms and feeling more love than she had ever felt before in her life. She waited for him to cry, all the while listening to the midwife tell her everything was fine.

But he never made a sound. He took two small breaths and died in her arms. Jenna remembered hearing someone's screams of agony ringing in her ears. She soon discovered they were her own. She remembered Sebastian running into the room and looking at her in horror.
She was struggling to breathe.

He screamed at the midwife, "What's wrong with her?! Do not let my wife die, damn you!!"

Her last memory was closing her eyes with her son cuddled in her arms.

She felt her knees give out and started to collapse, but Sebastian swept her up into his arms before she hit the floor. He carried her to the bed and laid her down gently.

He held her as she cried, and shed his own tears. They held one another for what seemed like hours.

Once her tears had subsided, he said, "Stay with me. Stay here. Please don't leave me..not again."

Jenna knew she could never leave him. Her memories of the love they shared were now fresh in her mind. She loved him, she wanted him.

"Yes.. I will stay,"  she replied in a whisper.

Before either knew what was happening, the door burst open and Damien rushed inside. He pulled out a knife and was on top of Jenna, pressing it to her throat.

"That hurt, bitch!" he yelled in her face.

He turned to look at Sebastian, who was just waiting to pounce, but terrified if he moved Damien would hurt Jenna.

"I see this mortal has made you slow, my friend!  Once again!" he leered.

"How many times do I have to kill you?!" Damien screamed at Jenna.

"Poisoning you worked the first time. Killed you and your pitiful son, I did!" he nearly spat at her.

With one quick slice, he slit Jenna's throat.

Sebastian was on him in an instant. Hearing Damien admit to murdering Eliza, and their infant son, put him in a rage. With one swift turn, he ripped Damien's head completely off.

He flung the headless body off of Jenna. Sebastian knew he had no choice now. He knew what he had to do to save Jenna's life.  Making her immortal was his only option. He would not lose her again.

His fangs dug deep into her neck. He bit for no more than 30 seconds and released. He knew this was going to be painful for Jenna. But the days to come would be easier than if he lost her again.

Sebastian sat with her during the days the change took place. Talking to her when she screamed in agony, holding her when she cried.

He left only to feed, and even then he had one of his servants sit with her.

When he returned from feeding on the sixth day, he walked in to find Jenna sitting up in bed.

As he walked up to the bed, she looked deeply into his eyes and said, "Husband..oh, how I have missed you.."

 Eliza.. His wife had returned.
